Vitamin "P"

Ever heard of Vitamin P? It’s P for pleasure...... not a real vitamin.Vitamin P  “Vitamin P,” was dubbed by nutritional psychologist Marc David, MA. His theory is that our levels of pleasure and satisfaction are directly related to our biochemical balance. Bottom line, pleasure counts for far more than most of us realize. We know that managing stress is important and most of us have learned from experience that chronic stress makes us miserable, but it turns out that dealing with our anxieties and negative emotional reactions is only half the battle. Science suggests that it’s not about a simple absence of stress and anxiety but about the tangible presence of experiences that bring sensory and emotional gratification, enthusiasm and, ideally, joy.Another suggestion is to train ourselves to be aware of blips of pleasure, happiness and appreciation as such small “noticings” of what’s right and good can have a surprisingly large impact on our overall mindset and, by extension, on our biochemistry. To date, there’s no blood test that can directly assess your baseline level of this "nutrient", and no official Recommended Daily Intake. Regardless of what our lab results say, I suspect we could all use a daily infusion of vitamin P, with moderation of course!
